APRON SEW ALONG
Our third Sew Along is Aprons! 18th century aprons ranged from plain and practical to fancy and fashionable. Anyone who has worn an apron knows how indispensable they are. For the 18th century lady they were an essential part of her wardrobe. These everyday aprons were often made of white, natural or checked linen while fashionable aprons were made of fine cottons, silks, lawns & cambrics often with the addition of ruffles, embroidery and trims. In regional folk dress you found the occasional printed fabric or colored apron often in blue or black. A necessary part of your 18th century wardrobe, this project will teach sewing skills that you will use later in more complex sewing projects.
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
- Fabric - 1 Yard Needed

Tape - 1/2 or 3/4 wide Linen or Cotton Plain Weave Tape
If you are making a self fabric binding on your apron you will need enough 1/2 inch tape to measure 1 1/2 times your waist plus a bow.
If you are using tape to bind the top of your apron you can use either 3/4 tape or 1/2 inch tape measuring your waist twice plus a bow. - Thread - Weight and fiber should be based on fabric choice
